General Information

ATH Business is the easiest, fastest and safest way to accept payments in Puerto Rico. It allows small and medium businesses to receive payments from ATH Móvil users in real time.

ATH Business is only available in Puerto Rico and USVI.

For iOS (iPhone and iPad), you can download the ATH Business app on the App Store.

For Android phones and tablets, you can download the ATH Business app on the Google Play Store.

You can download and use the ATH Business application on any iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.

ATH Business is not available in a web version.

No, your customers can pay using the regular ATH Móvil app and selecting the “Pay a business” option or by scanning your business’ ATH Móvil QR code.

Yes. ATH Business uses high-level security measures. Your financial information is encrypted, stored and protected on our secure servers. The information is kept secure from the moment the service is accessed and throughout the entire transaction process. We never send your personal or financial information, such as your card number or account number.

You can see the terms and conditions of the service and the privacy policy in the “Settings” section of the application under the “Information” category. You can also find this information at the bottom of the www.ath.business website.

If you want to delete your account, you must call your financial institution to delete your account from the system. To use ATH Business again, you will have to register again, as you will not be able to reactivate it.

Registration

Follow the instructions below to register for ATH Business:

  • Download the application for Android or iOS from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store from your smartphone or tablet
  • Open the ATH Business application
  • Click the Register button and enter your business information
  • Confirm your email using the validation code
  • Choose a password and 3 security questions with their answers
  • Add an ATH debit card from a participating financial institution

It is not necessary to enter a card to register your business in ATH Business. You will be able to complete this step later, but you need to add a card in order to accept payments. You need an internet connection through a cellular signal or WiFi to use the service.

For the new registration it is necessary to complete a merchant verification process before starting to receive payments.

TThe pATH is the unique name that identifies your business in ATH Business and allows your customers to send you payments with confidence and security. You will need to create a pATH for your business during the registration process, this must be between 3 and 25 characters or numbers.

Note: All pATHs start with “/” for easy identification

If another business has registered the pATH that you want to assign to your business and you have trademark rights to the name, you can claim the pATH by sending an email to [email protected].

As part of the registration process, you will need to provide an email to which you have access to, as it will need to be validated. It is important that the email has not been used in another ATH Business profile because you use this email to log-in to your account.

Always remember to check your spam or junk folder if you can't see the validation email in your Inbox.

If you receive an error message indicating that your email is already registered, it means that there is an active ATH Business account with the email you are trying to use. For assistance send an email to [email protected].

Note: Losing the Internet connection during the registration process or exiting the registration process without finishing could cause the account to be created by mistake, making that email unavailable.

Log in

To login to your account, you will have to start a session through the ATH Business application for Android or iOS. You will need to enter your email and password and answer your security question.

You can also login using your fingerprint or your 4-digit access code.

To login to your account you can use Touch ID (iOS), your fingerprint (Android) or a 4-digit access code. In the Settings section of your profile you can enable the fingerprint and a 4-digit code as authentication methods for your profile.

To use Touch ID or your fingerprint to log in, you will have to turn on the permission in your phone's settings.

If you always use the device from which you are logging in, you will be able to remember your email so you don't have to enter it every time you want to log into your ATH Business account.

When you start a session, on the screen where you enter the answer to your security question, you can choose to remember the device you are using. The next time you log in to your account from this device, you won't have to answer the security question.

Regain Access

To unblock your account, follow these steps:

  • Press the “Forgot Answers or Password?” button on the main screen or the “Forgot?” on login screens
  • Enter your email
  • Confirm the security code sent to your email
  • You can see the status of your credentials and restore the one you want

If you do not remember your login credentials and want to change them, follow these steps:

  • Click the “Forgot Answers or Password?” button on the main screen or the “Forgot your password?” at the login screens
  • Enter your email
  • Confirm the security code sent to your email
  • Choose if you want to reset your password or your security questions and enter the new credentials

Cards

You can create an ATH Business account without a card, but you will have to add an ATH card in order to receive payments. Your pATH will not appear in the list of registered businesses that ATH Móvil users can pay until you add an ATH card to your account.

You can use any ATH debit card from a financial institution participating in the service. You can find the list of participating institutions at www.athmovil.com.

To add a card to your ATH Business account, you will have to press the Add button in the Cards section or the Add Card button on any of the application screens and provide the requested information.

To validate your card, we will verify your access to the bank account associated with the card.

Banco Popular cards:

  • Enter your card’s Mi Banco account credentials
  • If you have a shared account and the credentials of Mi Banco account are not yours, you will have to create a new Mi Banco account in your name
  • If you don't have a Mi Banco account, you can create one

Cards from other participating financial institutions:

  • We will make two (2) debits and one (1) credit to the account associated with your card (these amounts will add $ 0.00; we will not charge you for this process)
  • You will have to find these amounts in your account statement and enter them to complete the verification of your card
  • The amounts may take time to be reflected in your account statement, depending on the internal processes of financial institutions

After adding your card in the system, your profile is complete. However, it will be sent to the email you registered in the profile requesting that you submit information to verify your business. You must complete this process before you can receive payments.

You can only register one (1) card in your ATH Business account.

Go to the Cards section, select the card registered in your account, press the Delete button and add a new card.

Note: If when you change the card you get an error message when trying to access the application, contact us at 787-773-5466.

No, you only need an ATH debit card from a participating financial institution.

You can edit the following information on your card by choosing the card registered in your account in the Cards section:

  • Name you assigned to your card (nickname)
  • Expiration date
  • Type of account (checking or savings)

Donations

Go to ath.business/donations and fill the application form and send the evidence of tax exemption of your organization. You will need to create an ATH Business account and add an ATH® debit card in order to apply.

Your organization will be able to receive donations once your application to be part of the donations section is approved. You will be able to see the transactions you receive through the ATH Business application. Individuals will be able to donate to your organization by choosing your organization's pATH in the Donate section in the ATH Móvil application.

TThe application review process takes about 2-3 weeks. If information is missing or we have any questions, we will contact the contact person provided in the application.

To register your organization in ATH Business, download the ATH Business mobile app for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play. Then, follow the registration steps indicated by the application. You need an email address and an ATH® debit card from a participating financial institution. For more information visit ath.business

You must present one of these documents as evidence of your organization's tax exemption:

1. Approval of tax exemption request from the Department of the Treasury (Form SC 2645 Request for Tax Exemption under Section 1101.01 of the Internal Revenue Code of Puerto Rico of 2011, as amended) in the name of the person who opened the ATH Business account for no more than 3 years since granted.

2. Approval of tax exemption request from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under section 201 (c) (3) of the federal Internal Revenue Code, in the name of the person who opened the ATH Business account for no more than 3 years since granted.

3. Tax Exemption for Non-Profit Entity Certificate (with expiration date in the current year).

The donations that your organization receives will instantly reach the account associated with the ATH® debit card that you registered with ATH Business. This must belong to a financial institution participating in the service. To see the list of participating financial institutions, click here.

Your organization can receive up to $10,000 per day. Donors can send a maximum of $1,500 a day to your organization.

The service charge is only 2.25% for each donation received, with a minimum of $ 0.06. Making a donation to your organization through ATH Móvil is free for donors.

Individuals can make donations through the Donate button on the ATH Móvil app. They will need to select your organization’s pATH, enter the amount to donate, review the donation and click Donate. It’s that easy.

Payments

You can sign up for the service through the ATH Business app for iOS or Android. We will request your business information, an email, an ATH debit card from a participating financial institution and a unique pATH that will identify your business and that people will use to pay you.

Your customers will be able to pay you using the same ATH Móvil application for individuals that is used to make person-to-person transfers.

By updating it, you will be able to see a new Pay a business section where you can choose the pATH of the business you want to pay. Only the pATHs of businesses that are registered with ATH Business and have an active ATH debit card will appear.

You will only be able to receive payments through your pATH, QR Code or payment button, you will not be able to receive payments to a phone number.

The pATH is the unique name that you assign to your business when you register for ATH Business and that identifies your business on ATH Móvil. Your customers will use this pATH to send you money with confidence and ease.

No. You can receive payments through your business’ pATH or by scanning your business’ unique QR code.

Transactions in which a phone number is used are limited to person-to-person transfers between individuals.

You will be able to see the payments received in real time on the main screen of your ATH Business account. You can also see your business transactions up to one (1) year ago in the Activity section. In addition, you will receive a weekly and monthly report with the payments, refunds and sales for your business. You can also generate a detailed report of all your business transactions for the dates you need by selecting the CSV button in the Activity section of the application.

Each transaction has a 4-digit identification number called a Transaction ID. This number starts at zero each day and increases for each payment received or refund sent.

A QR code is a symbol that contains protected information and can be scanned by cell phone cameras. It is a very common form of payment with mobile applications internationally.

The ATH Móvil QR code will identify the pATH of your business and can only be scanned by the ATH Móvil application camera so that ATH Móvil users can pay at your business easily and safely.

The customer can manually enter the pATH under the Pay a Business section.

The payment button is the fastest and safest way to receive instant payments from ATH Móvil users in your online store or mobile application.

Before you begin, make sure you have the following information:

  • An active ATH Business account.
  • A card registered in your ATH Business profile.
  • The public and private key assigned to your business. You can find this information in the configuration area of the ATH Business application for Android or iOS.

The application will allow you to be on the main screen where the summary of the day's sales and payments received are presented.

Therefore, you will be able to see the payments you receive automatically without worrying that the session will be closed.

Refunds

Yes. You will be able to refund any payment received through the service.

To generate a refund, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Activity section
  • Identify the payment you want to refund
  • Select the payment to go to the detail
  • Select the Refund button
  • Enter your ATH Business account password
  • Choose the amount you want to refund, verify the information and press Send Refund

You can only make a refund for each payment received for the full amount or less.

You can generate as many refunds as you want, but you can only make one (1) refund for each payment received. The refund will have to be for the full amount of the payment or for a lesser amount.

We require you to enter your password to generate a refund as a security measure. In this way we make sure that whoever generates the refund is the owner of the account.

Settings

The pATH is the unique name that you choose for your business when you register for ATH Business and that identifies your business on ATH Móvil. Your customers will use this pATH to send you money with confidence and ease.

Note: All pATHs start with "/" for easy identification.

Yes. You can change your pATH in the Settings section by selecting the pATH category. You will be able to change your pATH one (1) only time.

In the Settings section you can change your password at any time. You must enter a password with eight or more characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character.

In the Settings section you can change your security questions and answers at any time.

In the Settings section you can change your email at any time. You will have to validate your email through a security code that we will send to your email and you will have to provide.

In the Settings section you can choose if you want to use Face ID, Touch ID (iOS), your fingerprint (Android) or a 4-digit code to access your ATH Business account. These login options can be used along with your credentials to access your account.

We recommend that you enable these features to access your account, as it prevents you from forgetting your password or answering your security questions.

Choosing an access code to login to your ATH Business account is very useful for businesses that have several employees and want to allow them to enter the business’ ATH Business account. There is no risk that they enter using the code, since you can change it at any time, the balance of your registered card is not shown and to use the refund feature you need to enter the account’s password.

Note: Some devices do not have Touch ID or fingerprint authentication functionality. This option needs to be enables on in the device’s configuration section.

In the Settings section you can choose if you want to receive an email notification every time you receive a payment.

ATH Business Webhooks are a simple and secure way to notify your application of events that occur in your ATH Business account, such as receiving payments, receiving donations, sending refunds and more.

Before you begin, make sure you have the following information:

  • An active ATH Business account.
  • A card registered in your ATH Business profile.
  • The public and private key assigned to your business. You can find this information in the configuration area of the ATH Business application for Android or iOS.

In addition to receiving event notifications, you must configure a webhook listener server that:

  • Listens for incoming HTTP (POST) messages.
  • Has a valid HTTPS certificate (not self-signed).
  • Receives content in JSON format.

We recommend that you change your password immediately if you believe that access to your account has been compromised.

Limits and fees

Downloading the ATH Business app for iOS or Android is FREE.

The service charge is only 2.25% for each payment received, with a minimum of $ 0.06. Paying your business through ATH Móvil is free for your customers.

You can receive up to $ 10,000 per day through ATH Móvil. Your clients will be able to send you a maximum of $ 1,500 per day.
